Grogue!

posted: 10.9.06 by Barclay Barrios

Have students consider elements of style by producing their own grammar fashion magazine, Grogue. In small groups, have them look at drafts and consider the most common elements: What kinds of sentences are “hot” for this assignment? What sorts of verbs? Ask them to consider what could be hot next; do the student editors want complex sentences or dramatic fragments to be the next big thing? After reviewing the material on document design, have the groups sketch a design for the cover of Grogue to present to the class.
